Are you sick of working retail for the summer? How about an internship?!
INTERNSHIP MEETING
Wednesday, October 16 at 6:30 p.m.
6:30-7:30: Info Meeting with Career Center Staff, then stay to watch Office Space and pizza with the PCAs! Get help with your internship search and get answers to all of your career questions!

American Society of Magazine Editors (NY). For students interested in magazine editing, this internship focuses primarily on editorial tasks like handling reader mail, evaluating unsolicited manuscripts, researching articles, checking facts, and other duties. Work in DC or NY, ap-plicants must be seniors next year, a processing fee of $25 is required. Deadline: November 15, 2002.

Audubon Sharon Internship Program (CT). Various paid internships available for the summer at wildlife preserve. Positions include Environmental Education, Summer Naturalist, MAPS Bird Banding, and Research. Contact the Career Center for more information.

Carnegie Endowment for International Peace (DC). The Junior Fellows Program is offered to graduating seniors. Fellows will conduct research and outreach in areas such as international economic reform, democracy building, civil society development, nuclear non-proliferation, and much more. Students must be nominated by Carleton College, visit the Career Center for more information about the application process.

Dunn Fellowship and Marzullo Internship (IL). Both programs are governmental initiatives that strive to meet the public sector's future need for competent administra-tors. They serve as public sector management training programs that provide an opportunity for college graduates to supplement their education with experience in such areas as policy analysis and program administration. $2,326 per month, August 1-July 31.

HECUA (MN). Programs available in the US and abroad, students have an opportunity to study with other students who care about what's happening in society, learn from diverse people, and even gain academic credit. Applica-tion information is available in the Career Center, there are programs running year-round. Visit the website or email info@hecua.org with questions. Exploration Summer Programs. Information session on Monday, October 28 at 7 p.m. in Sayles Hill 253.

Shattuck-St. Mary's School (MN). Paid intern needed to assist the Publications Director with general writing assignments and public relations work. Good for building a portfolio, sophomores and juniors preferred. 10-15 hours/week. Email Amy at awolf@s-sm.org for more information or check the website.
