American Society of Magazine Editors (NY or DC).

The Magazine Internship Program offers students work on a magazine editorial staff to which they are assigned in New York or Washington, D.C. for the summer of 2004. The position emphasizes editorial tasks. Applicants should be juniors prepared to work fulltime, and preferably who have had experience in journalism. Minimum weekly stipend of $325. Applications can be downloaded at http://asme.magazine.org. $25 application fee; must be postmarked by November 15.

The Boston Globe (MA).
Summer intern applicants will either work as general assistant reporters on the metropolitan staff, or be assigned to the photography department, graphics department, copy desk, or our Washington Bureau. Applicants work full-time for 12 weeks with a weekly wage; shifts vary. Finalists will be asked for a later interview; applications available at www.bostonglobe.com/newsintern. Deadline: November 2.

Her Own Words (WI).
Internship in women's studies and media available throughout the year. Part-time, unpaid interns will work for producer/distributor of videotapes on women's history, literature, and art. Interns will also help produce videotapes, including photography, editing, and sound recording. Alum sponsored by Jocelyn Riley Carleton '71. Minnesota Children's Museum (MN).
Currently recruiting for two internships this fall. The Early Childhood Informal Education Internship offers students an opportunity to work with a team of education specialists and learn how to plan and implement developmentally appropriate early childhood programs in an informal, museum setting. The Fundraising and Special Events Internship offers students an opportunity to gain a firsthand knowledge of marketing and fundraising in a fun and fast-paced non-profit environment while assisting in the planning and execution of the 2004 Benefit Gala. Minnesota House of Representatives (MN).
Seeking undergrads to work directly with legislators and staff members to assist in performing essential duties of the House. Interns may conduct research, summarize reports, write press releases, and assist with mail and telephone contacts. For information, contact Mike Valleau at (651)296-7452.

Minnesota International Center (MN).
Seeking juniors, seniors, and recent college graduates for internships which begin in January. MIC is a non-profit organization offering intern opportunities in the following programs: Administration, Development, International Visitors Program, Community Programs, World Affairs, and International Classroom Connection. Internships are unpaid; accommodative to student's schedule, but require a minimum of ten hours per week. Candidates should have good written and oral communication skills and demonstrate a professional and responsible work attitude. National Air and Space Museum (DC).
Offering summer intern opportunities to undergraduates from all fields of study with strong academic records. A variety of intern projects available including computer services, exhibits department, curatorial/research department, aircraft and artifact restoration; internship runs 10 weeks, 40 hrs/week with a $3,500 housing and living expense stipend. Applications accepted from January 15 - February 15.

Riverview Economic Development Association (MN).
