The Dow Jones Newspaper Fund is offering college juniors, seniors and graduate students the opportunity to apply for one of more than 100 paid editing internships being offered during the sum-mer of 2004 through two programs: Newspaper Copy Editing Program and Sports Copy Editing Program. Also offering minority college sopho-mores and juniors the opportunity to apply for one of 12 paid internships through its Business Report-ing Program. Students interested in applying must take an editing test prior to applying. The test is being offered at Carleton on Thursday, October 30 at 7 pm. in the Career Center. Please sign up by Friday, October 24 if you plan to take the test.

ACM Chicago Arts Program (IL).
Students in the ACM Arts Program are engaged in the urban art world as scholars, creators, and art practitioners. ACM's unique curriculum combines rigorous academic study with an internship, a creative workshop, and an independent study project. Days are spent living in downtown Chicago attending plays, concerts, lectures, working at an internship, interviewing and networking with professional artists, and creating art. The Introduction to Cancer Research Careers (MD).
The ICRC program sponsors highly-qualified students to apply for an all expense paid, three day visit to the NCI main campus. ICRC participants would have the opportunity to tour facilities, listen to and network with research fellows, and potentially interview for an internship with NCI Investigators. If hired as an intern, student will work with and under the direction of principal investigators, researchers, fellows, and technicians. Travel expenses and summer housing available to interns, as well as monthly stipends based on education level. Visit http://icrc.nci.nih.gov to apply, deadline is November 14.

Minnesota DFL Party (MN).
Now accepting applications for two fall internships. Communications and Research Intern needed to help with research and special projects. Duties will include assisting in website maintenance, monitoring media, writing action alerts, organizing archives, and communicating with other teams. Applicants should have good writing, editing, and communication skills, organizational skills, and phone skills, as well as basic knowledge of Microsoft software (Word, Excel, Outlook). Also seeking an Accounting and Administrative Intern for accounting and administrative assistance. Duties include contribution data base entry and batch reconciliations, misc. data entry projects, and other accounting duties. Applicants will have an outgoing personality, computer skills, problem-solving skills, and basic/advanced familiarity with Microsoft software. Those interested should submit a resume, cover letter, two references, and a writing sample (2 page max.) along with the application. A monthly stipend is available; deadline to apply is October 17. Minnesota Senate (MN).
Providing internship opportuni-ties to students of all areas of study from Feb. 2nd through mid to late April. Senate internships expose students to the legislative process and to the internal workings of a specific Senator's office. Duties may vary, but are assigned by each Senator. Some might include: keeping a work journal, taking notes at meetings, writing letters and memos, writing reports, arranging and scheduling meetings, or researching a bill or an issue. Applicants must be able to recognize and keep material confidential, as well as possess the desire to gain a specific and detailed under-standing of the Legislature. RBC Dain Rauscher (MN).
Seeking enthusiastic and assertive juniors and seniors who have a passion for learning about the securities industry while working in a fast-paced environment. Interns will become familiar with the aspects of each area, build relationships with internal/external clients, and gain an awareness of the market factors that influence our business. Applications are due to the Career Center by noon, Tuesday October, 14. If selected, appli-cants must also be prepared to interview at RBC Dain Rauscher's office on October 27.

WFMP-FM 107 (MN).
Seeking a detailed oriented intern who demonstrates an interest and knowledge of current events and news issues, and can collaborate and work cooperatively with a team. Preference to those pursuing a major in broadcasting, journalism, or communication. Duties might include: assisting in daily department activities, copy writing and editing scripts, producing commercial and promotional ads, operating studio equipment and digital editing systems, dubbing and labeling completed commercials. Part-time, 20 hours/week; varies late after-noons/early evenings. Email resume to Human Resources Department at apply@hbi.com.
