Arena Stage (DC). The Arena Stage Internship Program offers those eager to learn and willing to share their talents an opportunity to experience the inner workings of one of the nation's most respected and prolific theaters. Interns will be provided with the highest standard of training through in-depth immersion in the art and business of producing theatre. A modest stipend is provided. Deadline is March 1, 2003.

Caux Scholars Program (Switzerland). The program seeks to attract participants with a real interest in the dynamics of conflict and peacemaking, and who feel that they have a role to play in shaping a better world. Topics in class range from terrorism to leadership, from global conflict to prejudice and reconciliation. The program is held at a conference center in Caux, Switzerland, drawing students from all over the world. The application deadline is April 1, 2003.

ECO Community Organization (MN). The ECO places dozens of interns annually at community environmental organizations, businesses and government agencies throughout the country. Non-profit organizations must offer research projects whose purpose is to expand scientific knowledge or understanding of the subject studied. Each student intern receives a weekly stipend of $450 from ECO. Prospective summer interns must identify a project and submit a completed project description form by January 31, 2003.

Georgetown University (DC). Offering three academic and internship programs sponsored by The Fund for American Studies, the "Live, Learn and Intern" programs. These include the Engalitcheff Institute on Comparative Political and Economic Systems, the Bryce Harlow Institute on Business and Government Affairs, and the Institute on Political Journalism. The Fund subsidizes the costs of these opportunities and offers substantial scholarships. The final application deadline is March 15.

Herbert Scoville Jr. Peace Fellowship (DC). College graduates have an opportunity to work with a public interest organization focusing on arms control and international security issues. The fellowship is offered twice yearly, in the spring and the fall, lasting from 6-9 months. There is no grant or scholarship. Deadline is February 10 for the Fall 2003 fellowship.

Institute for Experiential Learning (DC). The Capital Experience is the leader among internship programs, emphasizing focused learning tailored to the goals of each student. The program is guided by experienced educators at the Institute for Experiential Learning, a nonprofit organization whose sole mission is to promote and provide quality educational and professional development experiences for students. Students who participate in the Experiential Education Seminar will write journals, papers, and complete readings.

Institute for Political Service (MA, DC). Application deadline for summer session is February 19. Applications and more information available on their website.

Old First Reformed Church (PA). Positions available with Summer Program in Philadelphia. Old First's Summer Program convenes from June 22-August 17 and consists of a day camp for 75 children and a jobs program for 25 young teenagers. The programs provide hands-on training and experience in working with children and youth, and volunteers are provided room and board and a $175 weekly stipend. Student Pledge Against Gun Violence (MN). Student Assistant needed to be involved with every aspect of a national youth gun violence prevention campaign. Pay per hour is competitive, and requires a 5-10 hour per week commitment. Located in Northfield. If interested email mlgrow@pledge.org ASAP. Training begins soon.

University of Minnesota (MN). The Department of Ecology, Evolution and Behavior is accepting approximately 50 undergraduate students to serve as Research Interns at Cedar Creek Natural History Area. Although these positions are paid jobs that require hard fieldwork, they are also academically meaningful and enjoyable. Students will have weekly seminar programs, periodic discussion groups, field trips, and a possible independent research project. Onsite housing is available and pay is $8.25/hour. Deadline for application is March 18, 2003.

University of Toledo (OH). Nine week Research Experience to be held at the Lake Erie Research and Education Center. Students will participate in an interdisciplinary research project that will help them pursue a career in the environmental sciences. $3000 stipend available, email kcsajko@utnet.utoledo.edu for more information. Application deadline is March 15, 2003.

Walt Disney World (FL). The Disney College Program is a paid internship that challenges students to deliver their best while living, learning and earning on a unique Disney campus. Courses include communications, hospitality management, experiential learning, human resource management and more.
