Seeking individuals in the area of health fitness, exercise science,
biomechanics, sports medicine, strength and conditioning, and other
related fields. Learn how the body adapts to physical and psychological
demands in order to increase athletic performance; experience working
with athletes preferred. Summer interns must be available June 1-June
4th for training; will then be assigned to one of four metro locations.

Service Committee 2004 Mexico Summer Project (Mexico).
Looking for both participants and co-facilitators to participate in
the 2004 Semilleros de Futuros volunteer program. Will work with indigenous
communities on development projects, attend cultural and recreational
exchanges and workshops, and learn ways to address political, ecological
and economic challenges. Both participants and co-facilitators must
converse well in Spanish, and have interest in political, social, and
cultural issues of Mexico and Latin America, as well as their own communities;
must be prepared to live in remote living conditions. For applications,

Office of Environmental Justice Community Intern Program (DC).
Seeking interns to be placed with nonprofit organizations across the
country. Possible EJ projects include: health education, air and water
quality monitoring, urban reforestation, recycling programs, and other
community outreach activities. Interns will receive $450/week stipend

Upward Bound Program at Iowa Lakes Community College (IA).
Seeking tutor/counselors to work with college bound high school students
in an academic-intensive summer program. Will work with certified instructors
in academic areas and lead/supervise students during cultural, recreational,
and social activities. Also responsible for supervising dormitory activities,
helping with student transportation, and attending required staff meetings.
College junior/senior preferred, GPA 2.75, and previous experience working
with high school youth. Must be available June 9-July 23; $1500 plus
