The Blue Ocean Society for Marine Conservation (NH).
Non-profit organization looking for interns to work with research scientists aboard whale watch boats off the coasts of New Hampshire and Massachusetts. Will choose a focus area (i.e. research, boat or shore based education) and work on a related project in addition to intern duties. Applicants must be motivated and enthusiastic; knowledge of biology helpful, but not required. Unpaid; visit website for more details. MacNeal Hospital (IL).
Work with a Carleton alum at MacNeal Hospital, just outside Chicago. Volunteer for a summer, anywhere from 8-40 hours a week, flexible hours. Get to know doctors, nurses, patients, and their families, and gain experience with numerous different medical problems. Spanish-speaking volunteers especially welcome. Seeking a summer intern to work as a credit analyst. Intern would assess the risks involved in making loans to corporations, borrower's corporate strategies and strengths and weaknesses. Applicants must be organized, have strong written and oral communication skills, financial and business analysis skills, computer experience.
