For the 26th year, Minnesota's Private Colleges will host the annual
Job and Internship Fair, which stands out as one of the premier college/employer
partnerships in the country. Stop by the Career Center or visit the
web site to review organizations that are participating in the fair.
If you would like to sign up for the fair, please come to the Career
Center and pay the $10 registration fee. To reserve a seat on the bus,
an additional $5 deposit is required and will be refunded when you board

INSTITUTE OF PUBLIC AFFAIRS
The Humphrey Institute holds monthly information sessions for students
interested in pursuing a Masters degree in Public Policy (MPP), Urban
and Regional Planning (MURP), and a Master of Science (MS) in Science,
Technology, and Environmental Policy. The sessions are free and open
to anyone who may be interested in learning more about Humphrey and
their degree programs.

NAIS wants to introduce you to a free service for job seekers- the NAIS
Online Career Center. More than 1,200 NAIS independent schools across
the country post teaching and administrative jobs on the online Career
Center. This free service lets job seekers browse job and internship
opportunities, apply for jobs, and post resumes. There are also dozens

SHADY
HILL TEACHER TRAINING COURSE (TTC), MA
Shady Hill School is a unique pre-kindergarten through eighth grade
elementary school in Cambridge, MA. It is home to the Teacher Training
Course, a one-year site-based, graduate level teacher training program.
This program pairs apprentices with an experienced mentor teacher and
then fully immerses them in all aspects of the classroom. The program
offers graduate seminars and workshops. Apprentices earn Massachusetts
certification and most pursue a master's degree through Shady Hill's
joint programs with Lesley University or Tufts University. For more

Amanda Ruzin, '01, is a Senior Programmer Analyst
for Minnesota Life. She is willing to talk to students who have questions
about working in information services or the financial services industry.
Amanda graduated with a double major in history and psychology with
very little programming experience and was taught everything she needed
to know in MN Life's training program for new hires. You can reach her

MN Private College Job Fair. She encourages students to visit the MN

FELLOWSHIPS AND SCHOLARSHIPS
American Business Women's Association (ABWA)
Deadline: February 1
The Education Committee of the Rochester Charter Chapter of the ABWA
is now accepting scholarship applications. Applicants must be enrolled
for the academic year 2003-2004. Scholarships up to $1000 each will
be given to recipients. Applications include an application form, a
school transcript, three character reference letters, and a biographical
statement which includes personal goals and interests, awards, leadership
roles, extra-curricular and community activities, work experience, and

California
State Fellows Program, CA
Deadline: February 26
Eighteen college graduates will have the opportunity to serve as full-time
legislative aides and committee consultants for 11 months beginning
in October 2003. Fellows experience the broad range of activities that
take place in busy legislative offices. After a 5-week orientation,
each fellow is assigned to the personal or committee staff of a Senator.
Responsibilities include researching issues and helping develop legislative
proposals, analyzing and staffing legislation, assisting with constituent
inquiries, writing press releases and speeches, and performing other
delegated tasks. Fellows receive a monthly stipend of $1882 plus health

Environmental
Protection Agency's National Network for Environmental Management Studies
(NNEMS) Fellowship
Program Deadline: February 24
The purpose of this fellowship program is to provide undergraduate and
graduate students with hands-on experience in the environmental field
at EPA offices or laboratories, and to encourage students to consider
environmental careers. Fellowship students develop an increased knowledge
of environmental issues and have an opportunity to work with environmental
professionals within academia, the federal government, and private industry.

Explorations in Travel provides volunteer work placements for students
looking to spend an extended amount of time in an area, working on a
foreign language, developing or using skills that will help in future
employment, or who just want a new, challenging experience. The staff
of Explorations in Travel will work with you to design the placement
that best meets your interests, skills, and experience. Structured language
classes can be incorporated into a placement. A variety of placement
possibilities are available such as Guatemala, Belize, Costa Rica, Mexico,
Puerto Rico, Ecuador, Australia and New Zealand. Please contact Explorations

Illinois Legislative
Staff Intern Program (ILSIP), University of Illinois at Springfield
Deadline: February 1
Under the ILSIP program, 20 students are chosen each year and placed
as legislative analysts with the four Illinois legislative leadership
staffs. In addition, the program selects three research interns and
one science-writing intern to work with the Legislative Research Unit.
Interns chosen for the program must have completed their undergraduate
degree prior to starting the internship, which is 10 ½ months in duration.
Interns work full-time and receive a $2026 per month stipend and a total
of eight hours of graduate credit for attendance at the legislative
seminar.
Kiyosato
Educational Experiment Project (KEEP), Japan
Deadline: January 31
Kiyosato Educational Experiment Project (KEEP) is a not-for-profit organization
in rural Japan that is recruiting people to become staff members of
the International Relations Department. The duties are varied and may
include working in the local schools teaching English, presenting cultural
programs in Japanese for the general public at KEEP, and working in
the office with translation as well as occasional interpretation work
for visitors to KEEP. This is an employment opportunity for native English
speakers with fluency in Japanese.
LearningWorks,
MN
Deadline: February 18
LearningWorks at Blake provides paid summer teaching internships, complete
with teacher training andclassroom teaching experience. LearningWorks
is looking for a diverse group of college students to teach in an innovative
academic summer program for middle school students located in Minneapolis.
No teaching experience is necessary. Students of all majors are encouraged
to apply. LearningWorks desires applicants who are passionate about
education and who have a desire to impact the lives of young people.
Lingnan Tutor Program, Hong Kong
Deadline: March 1
Applications are invited for graduates to participate in the Lingnan
Tutor Program operated by the English Department at Lingnan Unversity.
The purpose of the tutorships is to assist in the development of an
English language environment on the Lingnan residential campus. The

Metropolitan
Museum of Art, NY
Deadline: January 24
The Metropolitan Museum of Art announces its 2003-2004 Internship Program
for students and recent graduates interested in careers in art museums.
Graduating college seniors, recent graduates, or graduate students in
art history or related fields are eligible for a six-month internship.
Interns are placed in one of the Museum's departments, where they work
on projects that match their academic background, professional skills,
and career goals. This program seeks to promote greater diversity in
the national pool of future museum professionals. The application essay
should include some discussion of how the applicant could further this

Minnesota Environmental
Initiative (MEI)
MEI is a non-profit organization that creates and sustains innovative
partnerships and projects among business, community groups, government
agencies and other environmental organizations to address environmental
challenges. Two positions are currently open. The Environmental Policy
Program Manager (24 hrs/wk. with full-time potential) will conduct sessions
on issues including air quality and this state's environmental priorities.
The Program and Administrative Assistant (part-time with full-time potential)
will coordinate logistics for MEI events, coordinate MEI communications
projects, and maintain MEI's administrative systems. For details contact

The Washington
Center, (DC)
College Plus One(r) Internship Program
The College Plus One(r) post-graduate internship program is available
during the summer (10 weeks) or during the fall or winter (12 weeks).
Students intern four days a week in areas such as government and politics,
environment, mass communications, nonprofits, law, and more, and on
Fridays attend career or professional development activities. Students
are placed according to their professional interests and goals. Many
participants who have been looking for jobs during the internship have
had success finding a job or being accepted into graduate school because
of their internship experience. There is a program fee, but over 80%
of their students receive some form of financial assistance to help
pay for their housing and/or the program costs.
