Researching Employers

 

Want to find out the important information about employers? Are you asking: Would this company be good to work with? Are their employees happy? Do they expect a lot of overtime? Here are some unbiased evaluations of companies worldwide.

CareerSearch--Search through businesses and organizations all over the country. This is a great way to find information and contacts.

Talking To Other Alumni--Alums can give you plenty of information about a company. They are usually very helpful and willing to talk to other alums about their employers. They can answer the questions no database or brochure can!

The Riley Guide--This is one of the better resources for researching prospective employers. In addition to finding links to companies, you can learn about how to effectively conduct your research into them and what you should be looking for.

Job Web's employer profiles--This job database can also help you decide which organization is right for you.

Hoover's Online--This enormous site claims to be "the ultimate source for company information." Most of the information can be viewed free, but for in-depth reports, you need to subscribe to their service.

Fortune.com--The site provides valuable info about Fortune 500 companies.

The Biotechnology Companies Search Page--Browse through this enormous list of bio-tech companies with brief descriptions and contact info for each.
