Football: Carleton Outguns No. 22 Augsburg, Sits Alone Atop the MIAC
Drew Ziller blocked a punt and returned it 25 yards for a touchdown and had the game-clinching interception and Carleton used a third-quarter onside kick which it converted into a go-ahead touchdown as the Knights outscored No. 22 Augsburg, 49-41 to remain unbeaten on the season. Shane Henfling was 21-for-27 for 266 yards and four touchdowns while rookie Jon Lien rumbled for 168 yards on the ground on 25 carries and two scores.

Women's Cross Country: Childs-Walker and Knights Cruise to Win at Westfield State
The Carleton women’s cross country team performed like a team ranked No. 10 in the nation, destroying the field at the James Early Invitational hosted by Westfield State. Simone Childs-Walker won the individual title with a time of 18:19, her first collegiate victory. The Knights placed seven races in the top 14, pulling away for the easy victory in the 22-team field.

Volleyball: Knights Go 2-2 at Border Battle
Sarah Kunelius (Sr./Eagan, Minn.) was named to the All-Tournament Team at the IIAC-MIAC Border Battle. Carleton concluded the two-day event with a 2-2 record.

Men's Soccer: Knights Suffer First Setback of 2008
The Carleton men’s soccer team (11-1-1, 6-1-1 MIAC) absorbed its first defeat of the 2008 campaign, falling 1-0 to visiting Augsburg College. The loss snapped a three-year streak that saw the Knights go 18-0-4 at home since Sept. 10, 2006.

Carleton to Host Running Reunion on Oct. 17-18
On Oct. 17-18, the men’s & women’s cross country programs will host a Running Reunion in conjunction with the annual Running of the Cows cross country meet. This promises to be a special celebration of the last 50 years of running at Carleton. The Knights extend an invitation to all former Carleton track and field and cross-country athletes to meet the current teams and to reunite with their former teammates and coaches.

Women's Golf: Wood, Knutson Help Knights Close Deal, Finish Third at MIAC Championships
Laura Knutson used a back-nine one-under par 35, vaulting herself up the leaderboard with the low round of the championships with a four-over par 76, and Katrina Wood posted her third straight solid round with a seven-over par 79 as 22nd-ranked Carleton capped a wildly successful MIAC Championships with a school conference-tournament record 335 in the final round to finish third. The Knights shattered the school 54-hole school record with their 1,028 total, as Knutson and Wood earned All-MIAC honors as the pair tied for second individually. It marked Carleton's highest finish ever at the MIAC Championships.

Volleyball: Knights Split During First Day at Border Battle
The Carleton volleyball team split its matches on the opening day of action at the IIAC-MIAC Border Battle. The Knights swept the University of Dubuque in the first match of the day, recording scores of 25-18, 25-18 and 25-21. Carleton returned to the court in the evening against host Cornell College and absorbed a 3-1 defeat by scores of 25-23, 25-19, 23-25 and 25-22.

Football: Game Day Preview - vs. Augsburg
It's Homecoming Weekend at Carleton, and this year the football matchup is one for the ages. Carleton is 4-0 for the first time since 1992 and sits in a tie atop the MIAC standings with Concordia and Augsburg, the Knights' opponent on Saturday. The Auggies are also 4-0, the first time they've accomplished that since 1973 Both teams feature strong aerial attacks and are receiving recognition in national polls.
