Women's Soccer: Knights Fall in Elite Eight to Defending Champs
The deepest run ever by a Carleton team into the NCAA Championships ended as the women’s soccer team lost, 2-1, to two-time defending champ Wheaton College in the NCAA Sectional Finals (Elite Eight). The Knights’ (18-6) memorable season included a team-record victory total and the program’s first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance.

Men's Soccer: Knights Fall to Defending Champs in Third Round of NCAA Championships
The best season in Carleton men’s soccer history came to an end with a 1-0 loss to defending national champion Middlebury College in the NCAA Sectional Semifinals (round of 16). As expected, good scoring chances were difficult to find for either team in a matchup of two of the top programs in the nation. Middlebury was No. 6 in the final regular-season NSCAA national poll with Carleton right behind at No. 7.

Women's Cross Country: Knights Conclude Season 23rd at National Meet
The Carleton College women’s cross country team concluded its season by finishing 23rd at the 2008 NCAA Division III National Championships hosted by Hanover College. Simone Childs-Walker and Laura Roach led the Knights, finishing 61st and 62nd overall in a field of 279 of the nation’s top racers. In the team competition, only ten other squads were able to get their second runner across the line before Carleton pushed its front two past the finish line.

Men's Basketball: Season Preview: Knights Ready for Season Opener
The 2008-09 Knights feature a squad comprised of eight returneees, who all saw significant minutes last season, plus a recruiting class of nine first-year players. Carleton has qualified for the MIAC Playoffs for seven consecutive seasons and 16 times overall. The Knights season opener is Sunday, Nov. 23 vs. Simpson College at 8 p.m.

Women's Basketball: Season Preview: Knights Ready to Enjoy the Journey
The Knights head into 2008-09 with memories still fresh of a run through the MIAC Playoffs and an NCAA Tournament appearance. Carleton returns its top six scorers from that squad and a strong senior class will determine how far this year’s team can go. The season opens with a three-game road trip across Oregon, beginning with a Wednesday, Nov. 26 contest at Lewis & Clark.

In its first-ever trip to the NCAA Soccer Championships, Carleton has displayed steady nerves and recorded three consecutive shutouts. The Knights continue their postseason run on Saturday night as they face two-time defending champion Wheaton College (Ill.) on its home field at 6 p.m. At stake is a trip to the Final Four.

Women's Soccer: Only Eight Teams Remain; Knights Advance to NCAA Quarterfinals with 1-0 Win
Lily VanderStaay converted a breakaway goal in the 38th minute as the Carleton College women’s soccer team advanced to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Soccer Championships with a 1-0 victory over Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on Friday night. Carleton (18-5) next faces two-time defending national champion Wheaton College (20-3-2) at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 22 with a trip to soccer's version of the Final Four on the line.
