Men's Soccer: Knights Edge Cardinals for Fourth Win
Carleton College notched its fourth consecutive victory to open the season with a 1-0 triumph over North Central College (Ill.). Bobby Phillips tallied his first goal of the year in the 48th minute.

Volleyball: Knights Beat D-II Team, Then Fall to No. 3 Emory
The Carleton College volleyball team posted a win and a loss in its second day of action at the Emory Classic in Atlanta. The Knights defeated Clark Atlanta University, a NCAA Division II team, 3-0 before falling to host school No. 3 Emory University by the same score. Annie Eckhoff was selected to the seven-player All-Tournament Team.

Women's Soccer: Knights Fall to #1 Wheaton College
The Carleton College women’s soccer team saw its season record evened at 2-2 following a 2-0 road loss at Wheaton College, the No. 1 team in the nation and the defending NCAA Champions. After a scoreless first half, the Thunder found the back of the net in the 57th and 64th minutes.

Men's Golf: Knights Tied for 12th After First Day
The Knights men's golf team is tied for 12th midway through its first tournament of the season. Carleton is only six strokes out of eighth place at the Augsburg College Fall Invitational. Round one was contested at Oakdale Golf Club (Par 72, 6,609 yards). Sunday's second round will be played at the Crow River Golf Club in Hutchinson.

Women's Golf: Knutson Scrambles Way Into Top Five at Concordia Invite's First Round
Laura Knutson made seven par saves and tallied only 32 putts en route to an eight-over par 80 to find herself in a tie for fourth after the Concordia Invitational's first round. Katrina Wood is a shot outside the top 10 after a poor putting performance left her at 12-over 84. As a team, the Knights are tied for fourth with host Concordia College, Moorhead, at 348, two shots behind third-place St. Olaf College.

Football: Season Preview: Strong Senior Class, Staying Healthy Are Keys to Knights' Season
Carleton College will rely heavily on its mix of veterans and youth as the program looks to take another step forward in 2008. While the Knights high-powered passing attack will again be featured by this year’s team, whether or not the team can avoid injuries will have just as much of an impact on the team’s success. Head Coach Kurt Ramler leans upon a strong senior class to lead the way in 2008.

Women's Golf: Wood Falls in Playoff, Narrowly Misses First Collegiate Win
Katrina Wood fired a six-over par 78, finishing in a four-way tie for first place before falling in a four-way, sudden-death playoff to lead 23rd-ranked Carleton at the one-day Cobber Open. Wood notched three birdies in the first eight holes and parred the final two holes for her sixth career sub-80 round, the second-most in school history. Laura Knutson rallied for a back-nine, one-over par 37 to finish in a tie for 11th at 84, but the Knights were fourth of eight teams at 350, losing to an unranked team for the first time since October 2007.
