Football: Knights Take Care of Oles, Become Heroes With the Goat
The Carleton football team spoiled St. Olaf’s homecoming festivities with a 21-7 triumph. With the victory, the Knights take possession of the famed Goat Trophy and avenge last season’s home loss to the Oles. Senior Matt Frank had 11 catches for 131 yards and two touchdowns in the Carleton victory. The Knights are 4-0 for the first time since 1992 and sit in a tie atop the MIAC standings.

Women's Golf: Wood, Knutson Help Knights Close Deal, Finish Third at MIAC Championships
Laura Knutson used a back-nine one-under par 35, vaulting herself up the leaderboard with the low round of the championships with a four-over par 76, and Katrina Wood posted her third straight solid round with a seven-over par 79 as 22nd-ranked Carleton capped a wildly successful MIAC Championships with a school conference-tournament record 335 in the final round to finish third. The Knights shattered the school 54-hole school record with their 1,028 total, as Knutson and Wood earned All-MIAC honors as the pair tied for second individually. It marked Carleton's highest finish ever at the MIAC Championships.

Men's Golf: Gilmore, Baseman Can't Help Knights Slide Backwards at MIAC Championships
Rookie David Gilmore knocked three shots off his first-round score, finishing a tough scoring day at seven-over par 79, and senior Hal Baseman added an 82, but the rest of Knights struggled as Carleton posted a 338 and finds itself 10th at the MIAC Championships, 13 shots back of Saint Mary's.

Teams Start '08-09 Season with Mid"Knight" Madness
The Carleton College swimming & diving teams held a Mid"Knight" Madness practice on October 6, kicking off what promises to be another exciting year at for both programs. Both squads entered the pool at the stroke of midnight and swam a brief workout to celebrate the official beginning of the 2008-2009 swimming and diving season.

Women's Soccer: Knights Blanked by No. 3 UW-Eau Claire
The Carleton women’s soccer team absorbed its first home loss of the year, falling 3-0 to the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, the No. 3 team in the latest national NSCAA/adidas® rankings. Goalkeeper Kate Trenerry had seven saves for Carleton, but the Knights were unable to get on the scoreboard, halting their three-match win streak.

Volleyball: Knights Sweep Pipers
The Carleton volleyball team improved to 4-1 in the MIAC (7-7 overall) following a sweep at Hamline University. The Knights hit .367 as a team in recording a 25-18, 25-15 and 25-21 victory. Annie Eckhoff led the way with 11 kills and a .476 attack percentage. Megan La Chapelle added nine kills and 12 digs.

Men's Soccer: Knights Stay Hot Against Bethel
The Carleton men’s soccer team cruised to a 5-0 victory over visiting Bethel University on Saturday. The No.8-ranked Knights got two more goals off the bench from first-year Tim Wills, giving the rookie a team-best seven scores this season.

Men's Cross Country: Davis Finishes Sixth to Lead Knights at UW-Eau Claire Open
Sophomore John Davis was the first Knight across the finishing line, recording a time of 25:35 at the UW-Eau Claire Blugold Open. As a team, Carleton finished 13th out of 19 squads.

Women's Golf: Wood, Knutson Power Knights to Third at MIAC Championships
Katrina Wood fired her second 10-over par 82, vaulting her into a tie for second place, and Laura Knutson matched that score to move herself into the top 10 individually and help 22nd-ranked Carleton slip into third place after the MIAC Championships' second round. The Knights shaved five shots off their first-round score to post a 344, the lowest score in school history at the MIAC Championships. The 693 total after 36 holes is also the lowest in Carleton's conference tournament history, as the Knights gun for their best finish ever at the MIAC Championships.

Men's Golf: Rookies Pace Knights, Ninth Early in MIAC Championships
Turner Wadington fired an nine-over par 81 and fellow first-year player David Steefel-Moore added an 82 as Carleton opened the 2008 MIAC Championships with a team score of 329 in the conference tournament’s opening round. The total left the Knights four shots clear of Saint Mary’s University and six back of Macalester College for eighth place.
