Sean's Page o' PPP
This page is an attempt to collect links to the most up-to-date
sources of Carleton PPP documentation and software, as well as old
links that are still around. No promises.
- Win3.1
- Windows 3.1 . There is a nice
page with both up-to-date instructions and links to the
appropriate software. It is oriented toward students. Faculty
will need to contact their computing support provider to enable
their PPP account and obtain a current license key for the
software.
- Windows 95
- Windows95. These are
old complete
Win95 PPP instructions with all the necessary links. This
setup uses the Cisco TCP/IP stack and therefore requires a
complete Cisco install to get started. This may not be the most
expedient route for most home Win95 users.
- Windows95. These are
newer instructions
for setting up PPP with the Microsoft TCP/IP stack and dial-in
adapter that comes with Win95. Win95 users with their original
installation media shouldn't need any of the Cisco stuff to get
going if they use these instructions. (though they may want
Cisco's telnet client)
- Mac
- Mac. There is an older
pretty complete page. However, it doesn't cover newer Macs
running OpenTransport. (Mac's running 7.5.3 may run Open
Transport, and PCI Macs must use Open Transport).
- Mac- There is a
new
Mac Page up with complete FreePPP2.5 instructions, and a
link to the software.
- Mac- Yet another new set of Mac
instructions. Again these are for FreePPP2.x. Haven't
compared these with the ones above, but they are new and
therefore better (?!)
