Knights Earn Academic All-Conference
The MIAC has announced its list of academic all-conference honorees for winter and spring sports, with 21 Carleton student-athletes earning distinction. Student-athletes must be a sophomore, junior, or senior with a minimum GPA of 3.5. Additionally, student-athletes in basketball, baseball, softball and tennis must compete in half of their team’s contests, while those in swimming & diving and track & field must qualify for the conference finals.

Wingert Receives Academic All-District Award
Senior Katherine Wingert of the Carleton College women’s cross country and track and field teams has been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District® second team. She was an All-MIAC performer in 2008 during both the indoor and outdoor seasons and recorded a pair of NCAA provisional qualifying times in middle-distance races.

Lovett Wins Javelin at NCAA Qualifier
Four Knights took part in the NCAA Qualifier meet at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. That group included Kelly Lovett, who established a personal best in winning the javelin with a distance of 128’7”, and Molly Christian, who concluded her collegiate career.

Knights Eighth; Campbell, Wingert and Lovett Earn All-Conference Honors at 2008 MIAC Outdoor Championships
Carleton received spectacular performances by several team members and the women’s track and field team finished eighth at the 2008 MIAC Outdoor Championships. The Knights saw All-MIAC performances from Karen Campbell, Katherine Wingert and Kelly Lovett.

Preview: Knights' Distance Runners to Lead Way at MIAC Championships
Senior Katherine Wingert and a strong contingent of middle-distance runners lead Carleton into the 2008 MIAC Outdoor Championships. The Knights, who finished sixth at the conference indoor championships in March, will need spectacular performances up and down the lineup if they want to repeat last year’s third-place showing in the outdoor season.
