Wood, Knutson Help Knights Close Deal, Finish Third at MIAC Championships
Laura Knutson used a back-nine one-under par 35, vaulting herself up the leaderboard with the low round of the championships with a four-over par 76, and Katrina Wood posted her third straight solid round with a seven-over par 79 as 22nd-ranked Carleton capped a wildly successful MIAC Championships with a school conference-tournament record 335 in the final round to finish third. The Knights shattered the school 54-hole school record with their 1,028 total, as Knutson and Wood earned All-MIAC honors as the pair tied for second individually. It marked Carleton's highest finish ever at the MIAC Championships.

Knights Tied for 22nd in Latest Poll
Carleton is tied for 22nd in the latest Golf World/National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) Division III coaches poll. The Knights are ranked for the fifth straight poll, after making their debut in the first poll of this past spring. They rose to as high as 17th and entered the fall campaign ranked 23rd. They hadn’t lost to a ranked team until the Cobber Open the second weekend of September, dating back to the spring season.

Wood, Knutson Power Knights to Third at MIAC Championships
Katrina Wood fired her second 10-over par 82, vaulting her into a tie for second place, and Laura Knutson matched that score to move herself into the top 10 individually and help 22nd-ranked Carleton slip into third place after the MIAC Championships' second round. The Knights shaved five shots off their first-round score to post a 344, the lowest score in school history at the MIAC Championships. The 693 total after 36 holes is also the lowest in Carleton's conference tournament history, as the Knights gun for their best finish ever at the MIAC Championships.

Wood Paces Knights in MIAC Championships First Round
Katrina Wood opened the first round of the MIAC Championships with a 10-over par 82, helping the 22nd-ranked Carleton College women’s golf team posted a 349 team score and is tied for fourth after the first round of the conference tournament. The Knights’ team score was matched by 25th-ranked College of St. Benedict, and both Carleton and the Blazers are two shots behind Macalester College. Second-ranked Gustavus Adolphus College leads the 10-team field at 324, followed by seventh-ranked and seven-time defending conference champion University of St. Thomas at 328. - October 3, 2008

Wood Ties for Sixth, Knights Fourth at UW-Stevens Point
Katrina Wood posted a final-round nine-over par 82, backing up her opening 81, to finish in a tie for sixth at the UW-Stevens Point Invitational. She and Laura Knutson's final-round 82 helped the 22nd-ranked Knights knock nine shots off their first-round score for a final-round 348 in the 13-team event. It marked the final tournament for the Knights before next weekend's MIAC Championships.

Wood Near Lead After Stevens Point First Round
Katrina Wood overcame a triple bogey on her second hole to finish at eight-over par 81 and finds herself sixth after the UW-Steven Point Invitational's first round. Meghan Gajare added an 89 for the 22nd-ranked Knights, who are fourth of 13 teams after a first-round 357.
