Student Life
The answer to the question, "What is life like at Carleton?" has as many answers as there are students. There are endless possibilities. Student life at Carleton is rich with opportunities for personal growth and fun.
First, there are your fellow students -- an engaging source of diverse ideas and backgrounds and just plain fun. Together students oversee a myriad of organizations from arts and musical groups to social action organizations to a juggling club. And if your particular interest is not represented yet at Carleton, gather some friends and start your own organization. Creative initiative is definitely encouraged.
Second, there are athletics. Even if you're not into intercollegiate competition, there are a wide variety of intramural sports to get involved in. Not just the traditional ones like basketball or softball, either. There is rugby and Aikido and badminton and, of course, Carleton is a nationally recognized Ultimate Frisbee powerhouse.
Third, your calendar will fill up quickly with the special events that you won't want to miss. Special lecture series include prominent writers, scientists, artists, philosophers and politicians. And then there are the Carleton theater and musical productions, exhibits and weekly convocation every Friday.
